July overload

I am usually very up to date on my post but July is a BUSY month for us. We have two birthdays to celebrate, an anniversary and trips to Louisiana(one half trip to drop off Jordan and the other to go and visit). So, with that being said instead of detailing every moment let's just say we have enjoyed every moment with family and friends and here are the pics to capture most of the fun.
Swimming lessons with Ms. Kay-Jordan was her favorite!

Visitors

For the birthday weekend celebration, we were visited by family and amazing friends. I loved that birthdays bring families together. We enjoyed having Brook, Ky and Beck with us for the weekend along with Mama. I love seeing these two boys back together and play(more like fight) together like brothers might. My favorite memory has to be when Beck was driving Jordan's Power Wheel. Let's just say he needs a little more practice before he should be let on the roads again. My heart melted when I heard Beck saying he didn't want to go home and Jordan asking when are we going to see Beck again.

We were also visited by my grandma, great uncle Johnny, aunt Sandra and uncle Ram and cousin Ashley and her son, Noah. Uniting family is always a fun experience: full of laughter and some great story telling. And we captured a rare sight these days of 4 generations together. God is Good!!!

Swimming Party

There is nothing like the unpredictable weather in the middle of the summer in Houston. And that could not be more true then during the kid's POOL birthday party. The kids had a blast swimming, jumping off the diving board, sliding on the slide and using the water guns. I asked Jordan what his favorite part of the party was and his response, "Swimming!"

The kids swam for most of the party and probably would have continued to whether there was pizza and cake or not. However, plans changed rather quickly when the dark clouds rolled in and the thunder sounded and the lightening stroke and minutes later torrential rains. I guess in a way it was perfect timing for pizza and cake, just a little hurried with wet kids and many guests forced into a house not expecting an indoor party.

All in all the party was a huge success and amidst the chaos of the weather, everyone was still eating, talking and playing just like a party should.

A big thank you to my mom for accommodating a mass amount of people in her nicely remodeled kitchen and dining room. A special thanks to Ms. Brook for helping with feeding and serving others while I was scurrying around making sure everything was okay. And thank you for everyone else I might have missed because I was so busy running around. The kids enjoyed themselves with friends and family and in the end that is the real celebration.

My little boy turns 3!

I love this little dude more than I thought I could love anything. He is my handsome little man with those long beautiful eyelashes and brown eyes add his sweet personality and loving nature(especially as an older brother) and you have one proud momma. Not to mention he is the smartest cookie around the block(I know I am bias but the doctor confirmed it at his 3 year checkup). He can complete 24-piece puzzles and now has advanced to 48-piece puzzles, he can draw the basic shapes, he knows all his letters and the sounds they make, he is reading a few sight words, knows how to count and write and spell his name and most letters. He has a passion to learn and excitement in accomplishing the task.

Jordan's favorites: Cars, trucks, trains, coloring, crafts, reading books, driving his Power Wheel Ford truck, swimming, swinging.

I did a quick 20 question interview with Jordan and will do every year to see how his answers change. Here are a few of the questions and answers:

What is your favorite outfit? Athletic shorts and red car shirt
What is your favorite game? Running

What is your favorite song? Hippopatamus Song
Who is your best friend? Mommy
What is your favorite drink? Milk

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Grandma and grandpa’s house
What do you want to be when you grow up? So big

Jordan's 3 year old stats: 38 inches tall and 29 pounds, Doc said, "Jordan is advanced in his cognitive abilities for a 3 year old." She was very impressed with his answers to her questions and his attention to details.

I thank God for blessing me with this little boy and instilling me with great job of raising and watching this little boy grow into a young man.

Julia turns the BIG ONE!!!

I thank God for blessing us with this beautiful little girl. She brings us an overwhelming amount of joy. She is our adventurous, smiley, trying to keep up with my older brother little girl and I can not wait to see more of personality unravel in the coming months when she can walk and talk. Look out world!

Happy Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July from my two little firecrackers!!! We had a wonderful time at church singing songs followed by fireworks with the neighbors. Just yesterday Jordan was scared of fireworks and today he was asking for more, cheering and jumping for joy the entire evening. It is amazing how quickly they change and how fast my little ones are growing.
