We are so blessed to have wonderful friends in the Elders, who invited Jordan to come and practice with the team their daughter(3 & 4 year olds) plays on and he coaches. Rich is an amazing coach and a highly knowledgeable soccer trainer, so it is truly an honor to be able to practice with him with all his certifications.
Jordan is the shy type and at first was a little hesitant to go over and play with kids he has never seen. But once he joined in the warm up he never looked back.
Highlights of his first practice:
-Listening skills-followed all directions to a tee-truly an amazing attention span for a 2 year old in my opinion-I think its his drive to do everything right
-Stamina-he finished the entire practice without resting or asking for water except when they gave them instructed water breaks-RUN FOREST RUN
-Athletic ability-he is a quick learner and was able to master drills in little time-penguin walk, rolling the ball, leg kicks and elephant walk
Funnies:
While playing Red light, Green light, Jordan decided the other side of the field must have been where you won, so he kept running and running and running. One of the fathers had to go and grab him before he was a mile away. Guess mommy with have to add that game to our list, oops!
During the game portion of the practice, where the kids names are called and they attempt to score. Jordan and his friend Ryan who is also 2 years old, decide to stare up in the sky at the passing birds. They chit chatted for awhile and then decided to continue running along side each other with the ball. REALLY???!!!!
Overall, I was very impressed with Jordan on many different things but the most important part of the whole event is that he had fun. He couldn't stop talking about his soccer practice and how he got to run and score. He was grinning from ear to ear all night long. A special thanks to the Elders for allowing him to create such memorable moments and we can not wait till the next practice.
